Greta lost a tooth

So Greta is super excited that she lost her first tooth! She's had two loose teeth for quite a while now and just today one managed to pop out (the one that's been loose for over a year is still in her mouth). It's a good thing too because as you can see in the photo below, the adult tooth is pretty much out and has come in behind where her baby tooth was. Unless this tooth manages to move forward 1/8", I think I see braces in her future.

Greta's first missing tooth

So now we get to deal with the Tooth Fairy! I asked her what she was going to do with the tooth, and first she mentioned putting the tooth under her pillow. Then somehow the conversation resulted in the tooth being put into a jar, and it is currently tucked snugly beside her in her sleeping bag so that she can keep it warm and cozy. (FYI: While Sandra's been away, Greta's been having a 'camp-in' in our living room...there's a tent set up and she been sleeping in a sleeping bag). At one point in the conversation she started crying because she didn't want the Tooth Fairy to take the tooth away. At first I thought it was so that she could show Sandra the tooth when she got home, but she didn't want the Tooth Fairy to ever take the tooth away. So, I guess she'll get to keep her tooth.

The other unique thing about this whole ordeal is something she remembered Peyton doing when we visited MB last Feb. When Peyton lost her tooth, she set out a jar of water, and in the night, the Tooth Fairy would change the colour of the water into the colour of the fairy. So now Greta has a small jar of water sitting on the coffee table and she's very excited to see what colour it will be tomorrow! Oh kids...sometimes they can be so funny!
